All PACCAR engines are designed to offer the highest standards of economy, reliability and durability. The 6-cylinder, in-line engines with smart high-pressure injection systems are cleaner and deliver high power and torque at low engine speeds.

PACCAR MX 12.9 litre engine

To extend its leading position in the field of fuel efficiency and low operating costs even further, DAF has introduced a significant number of innovations to the successful 12.9 litre PACCAR MX engine. New pistons, optimised fuel injection and a unique, fully encapsulated exhaust manifold unit ensure substantially lower fuel consumption and therefore lower CO2-emissions.

The 12.9 litre PACCAR MX engine from the prestigious DAF XF105, is available in 360, 410, 460 and 510 hp versions with high torques ranging from 1,775 up to 2,500 Nm.

The engine complies with Euro 5 and EEV emission standards thanks to the SMART injection system and SCR technology. The engine design results in increased service intervals to 90,000 km. With synthetic oil and centrifugal filter, intervals of up to 150,000 km can be achieved, resulting in lower operating costs and maximum vehicle availability. An integrated MX Engine Brake can be specified, providing excellent engine brake performance from 210 kW at 1,500 rpm to 320 kW at 2,100 rpm.

The 12.9 litre Euro 6
PACCAR MX-13 engine

The 12.9 litre Euro 6 PACCAR MX-13 engine uses ultra-modern common rail technology, a turbo with variable geometry and advanced controls for maximum efficiency. In order to comply with the strict Euro 6 emissions requirements, it features exhaust gas recirculation, together with SCR technology and an active soot filter.

PACCAR MX-11 engine

The state-of-the-art PACCAR MX-11 engine is compact and offers optimum fuel efficiency and a low weight and noise level, in combination with excellent performance and maximum reliability. The new PACCAR MX-11 engine, developed and built by DAF Trucks in Eindhoven, is scheduled to go into production in the autumn of 2013 and will be available in the new DAF Euro 6 CF and XF series.

PACCAR PR 9.2 litre engine

The 9.2 litre PACCAR PR engine delivers a maximum power of 250, 310 or 360 hp with maximum torques of 1,050, 1,275 and 1,450 Nm respectively. And complies with Euro 5 and EEV emission standards thanks to the SMART injection system and DAF SCR technology.

Optimisation of the combustion process and components leads to service intervals of 75,000 km. For long distance applications and when using synthetic oil and a centrifugal filter, service intervals of up to 100,000 km are available. The standard exhaust brake, operated with a foot pedal, offers a maximum braking power of 170 kW at 2,800 rpm.

The 6.7 litre PACCAR PX-7

The 6.7 litre PACCAR PX-7 six-cylinder is at the top of this line. In four versions with outputs from 220 to 310 hp. This powerful engine is ideally suited for the new LF for distribution applications. With its high power output and torque in a favorable rpm range, the PX-7 engine will also become available in the CF from the beginning of 2014. The PX-7 is powerful and efficient, smooth and clean. And it’s maintenance friendly.

The 4.5 litre PACCAR PX-5

The completely new 4.5 litre PACCAR PX-5 four-cylinder is the ideal power unit for inner-city distribution. The most compact engine from the PX series is equipped with the same technology as the larger PX-7 six-cylinder. It is powerful, flexible, economical and clean. The PACCAR PX-5 is available in three variants, from 150 to 210 hp. It offers Euro 6 technology with the lowest emissions. And of course, low fuel consumption as you are used to from DAF.

PACCAR GR 6.7 litre engine

The 6.7 litre PACCAR GR engine in the CF65 offers maximum outputs of 220, 250 and 300 hp and torques of 850, 950 and 1,100 Nm respectively. The GR-engine complies with the Euro 5 and EEV emission standard thanks to the high-pressure common rail injection system and SCR technology.

The use of more efficient and low-maintenance components in combination with optimised cooling and combustion allows service intervals to be increased to 35,000 km for distribution applications and 55,000 km for the long haul, thus reducing operating cost and increasing uptime. The standard exhaust brake offers increased braking performance and is actuated by foot pedal or steering wheel stalk.

PACCAR FR 4.5 litre engine

The 4.5 litre four cylinder PACCAR FR engine is available with outputs of 140 hp, 160 hp, 185 hp or 207 hp and torque levels of 550 Nm, 600 Nm, 700 Nm and 760 Nm respectively.

DAF SCR Technology for a bright future
The clean route

DAF uses SCR technology – Selective Catalytic Reduction. This SCR technology offers the best solution to comply with the strict European Euro 5 and EEV emission requirements. SCR technology is simple, reliable and efficient.

As SCR is an after-treatment system, the most efficient combustion techniques can be used in the engine itself. And DAF goes even further. DAF SCR Technology is applied in an entirely new series of PACCAR engines with an advanced high-pressure fuel injection system.

DAF EEV engines

By fitting an open soot filter to Euro 5 engines, DAF Trucks is able to deliver trucks that comply with the standard for Enhanced Environmentally- friendly Vehicles (EEV). These EEV engines produce 50% less particulate matter than the already clean DAF Euro 5 engines. With the EEV diesel engines, DAF is able to achieve emission values that until recently were only regarded possible with gas engines.

For inner-city distribution, the LF is standard available with FR engine versions that meet EEV emission levels through optimal combustion.
