It’s going to be a Highland life for a pair of DAF CF85 tractor units that have entered service with Scotland’s leading flour millers Hutchison’s Flour of Kirkcaldy, part of the Carrs Milling Group. The new trucks will spend their days entirely in Scotland and for much of the time in the Highlands.

DAFs tackle 100,000 tonnes of waste in Fife

In a highly intensive operation, Fife Council is using four DAF CF85s pulling high-capacity BMI ejector trailers to move around 100,000 tonnes of recycling and compost to disposal facilities.

DAF CF85 awarded ‘Fleet Truck of the Year’

At the presentation of the prestigious ‘Motor Transport Awards 2010’ in London, the DAF CF85 has been awarded ‘Fleet Truck of the Year’ for the third year running. The ‘Motor Transport Awards’ are the UK’s premier transport industry awards.

DAF offers all engines to EEV specification

Effective immediately, DAF is also offering its 6.7 litre PACCAR GR-engine in an EEV-compliant version, making DAF the first truck manufacturer to have its complete engine range available in ultralow emission versions. EEV-specified vehicles (Enhanced Environmentally-friendly Vehicles) emit at least 33% less soot particles when compared to the current Euro 5 emission standard. A number of versions of the 12.9 litre PACCAR MX-engine are now EEV-compliant, without the need for fitment of a soot filter.

PACCAR MX Engine Earns EPA 2010 Certification

May 12, 2010, Bellevue, Washington – PACCAR today announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified the PACCAR MX 12.9-liter diesel engine to the 2010 emission standards. The PACCAR MX engine certification and compliance with EPA 2010 emission regulations allows the PACCAR MX engine to be installed in Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicles in North America, effective immediately.

DAFcheck service history recording system now available FREE

With the Operators Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) system used by VOSA becoming even more important and affecting O Licences, the recording and retrieval of vehicle maintenance records is increasingly critical for truck operators.
Now DAF has developed DAFcheck, its own in house web-based system for recording the inspection and service history of trucks, and it has made it available free-of-charge to operators.
